This meme generator puts classic Impact-style text on an image you provide. Drop in a PNG, JPG, WebP or GIF and it starts with a top and a bottom caption. Edit each caption in its own box, drag the text anywhere on the picture, and add more text boxes for extra lines or labels.
For the selected caption you can set the font size, the text color, the outline thickness and left, center or right alignment. The preview is drawn at the image's own size, so what you see is what you download: a PNG with no watermark added. The tool has no built-in template library; you bring the image.
Why this runs on your device
The privacy stake here is small: a meme is usually meant to be shared anyway. The image is read and drawn by your browser and the PNG is built on the page, so a private photo is not sent to a meme site's server along the way, but that is a convenience more than a safeguard.
- Upload the image you want to caption.
- Type your text into the top and bottom boxes, or press Add text for more.
- Drag each caption into place and adjust size, color, outline and alignment.
- Download the finished PNG.
- Each caption is a single line. Text is not wrapped, so a long caption runs off the edge of the picture. Split it across two text boxes instead.
- The outline is always black. You can change its thickness, including to zero, but not its color.
- The font is Impact where your device has it. Devices without Impact fall back to another bold font, so the look can differ between machines.
- Font size is in pixels of the original image, so a large photo needs a larger size than a small one. Images over 15 MB are refused.
- A GIF is exported as a single still PNG, not an animated meme, and there is no undo.
